Geocaching is a real treasure hunt that takes place outdoors. Players attempt to find hidden containers, called geocaches, using a GPS. They have to find all the ecotreasures and organise themselves so as to produce as little CO2 as possible.

The treasure hunt game is associated with learning about and protecting the environment of outstanding places. If you like the ecocache sites, the ecotreasures will provide you with booklets that will help you understand their ecology and history, and how to protect them.

Procedure:

• Obtain a GPS

• Download permanent eco Treasure Hunt maps from the ecotreasures section on this site: www.ecocaching.org

• Set off on a discovery of outstanding places.
